Iro Omere is a North Texas native born and raised in Dallas, Texas. She studied at Prairie View and John Marshall Law School. She began her career in Higher Education at Prairie View then transitioned to serve as a STEM educator in the inner city schools in Houston, Atlanta, and Brooklyn for nine years.
Iro Omere has advocated for education development and physical and mental health. She has also led in the political engagement and involvement of underrepresented communities throughout the country. In 2022, she became the 1st African American Democratic Nominee for Texas 4th Congressional District. Iro is now an Education Policy Director for OMazing Education.
